It was something my sister decided while she was planning her wedding and almost forgot 7 years later when she had her first children! The outfits are absolutely beautiful and made out of a solid satin fabric appropriate for both sexes. The train from the wedding dress had some detail around the edge and was used as the gown part of the little girl's christening gown. I encourage anyone to do this especially when the grandmother has wonderful sewing talent!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32686050.post-80929596519768156462009-02-17T14:46:00.000-06:002009-02-17T14:46:00.000-06:00I have a very talented dear friend who creates the...I have a very talented dear friend who creates these beautiful gowns form wedding gowns, they are truly stunning . For many families the creation of a wedding gown that grandma wore into something for children 2 or 3 generations later has been to say the least a very emotional experience.
A finished christening gown from a wedding gown is unlike any pre fabricated item any parent would want their child to wear on such a special and blessed occassion.
MY friend is in the process of establishing a website ,as she has invested a lot of money inadvertising local area parish newsletters.
Not just because she is my friend, but because she feels so emotionally driven to create something rare and beautiful , and something that will never be duplicated. I would love to just put her e mail address out there , but I am sure she would not appreciate me doing that.
However I would and could forward any requests for photos and testimonials . The time involved in creating one of these pieces of art , certainly is not reflected in the end cost. My friend will never become wealthy providing this service, but you will never find something so rare and beautifully tailored as her finished product.
